Candlelit Yin
Join Shelley Randall (RYT500) for a 75 minute Candlelit Yin. Offered every Sunday starting November 30th through December. In this class, we slowly move in and out of a handful of shapes in order to tap into our parasympathetic nervous system. Here we access our ability to “rest & digest“. Creating and expanding our container for increased resilience, nourishment and peace. No previous experience needed, all are welcome. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
Shelley Randall completed her 200 hour yoga teacher training in 2017 and 300 hour Yin Yoga teacher training in 2020. She owned and operated her yoga studio, the Yoga Barn and Workshop, from 2018 – 2022 in Holderness, NH. She has continued to teach yoga and Qi Gong in various private studios and substance abuse treatment centers.
Her Yin Yoga training focused on the Five Elements of Traditional Chinese Medicine and this is the context that she continues to use to bring her students into a greater awareness of the internal functioning of their bodies – the concept of interoception.
Shelley understands the need for individuals to turn off their external radars and focus inwardly, quieting the central nervous system. She believes that the best way to enter into this deeper state of relaxation is through settling into one’s body through breath and stillness.
Shelley is thrilled to have chosen Maine to settle in after living and traveling in her campervan for 8 months in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico with her faithful four legged companion, Louise. When not in Maine you can find Shelley anywhere in the world traveling to Sacred Sites.

Intro to Hypopressives
Hypopressive is a compound term derived from Greek and Latin roots meaning “low pressure“.
ℎ𝑦𝑝𝑜 : A Greek prefix that means "under," "below," or "less than normal".
𝑝𝑟𝑒𝑠𝑠𝑖𝑣𝑒: Derived from the Latin verb premere, meaning "to press".
Therefore, hypopressive refers to breathing techniques and exercises that decrease pressure in the abdominal and pelvic cavities. This is in contrast to traditional exercises like crunches, which are hyperpressive, meaning they increase internal pressure.
Hypopressives are a training system focusing on the breath, alignment of the body and stretching of the fascia. We incorporate apnea (if applicable), different static postures, arm movements and sometimes fascia melting techniques.
These exersices are great for people postpartum who are looking for a ways to reintegrate with their core, abdominals and pelvic floor in a non-pressure way.
Hypopressive exercises offer benefits including improved core strength and awareness, better posture, retrained breathing patterns and strengthened pelvic floor muscles.
